On the work of the expert community of foundry specialists

The 17th Foundry Consilium, held in December 2025 in Chelyabinsk, brought together more than 300 participants from various regions of the country. Leading foundry producers, equipment suppliers and buyers of cast products gathered to exchange views on trends in the foundry industry, discuss technical innovations, market conditions and future plans.
For three days, experts and practitioners discussed casting technologies and equipment, finished-product quality control processes, additive technologies, robotization and digitalization in foundry production. Speakers from the industry’s flagship companies shared their production experience and discussed sector-specific technical issues with colleagues. The very concept of holding the event in the format of a Consilium implies active discussion after the reports of industry leaders, as well as the discussion of technological issues during further informal business communication. The experience of these leading companies is, without any doubt, of enormous professional interest to other market participants.
The specialized Foundry Institute of India, which has been operating for 75 years, showed great interest in the Consilium. India is the world’s second-largest producer of castings and is actively increasing its export potential. Representatives of the Indian foundry institute met with Russian colleagues, established contacts and attended presentations by experts, including Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Economic Geography at the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University N. Zubarevich, whose speech caused a strong resonance in the corridors of the Consilium. According to the scientist, “we are rapidly moving towards the next crisis”.
The current economic landscape is not looking its best. The same topic was discussed at the Club of Directors of the Foundry Consilium “Challenges and Solutions”, which was held on the site of the Metal-Expo'2025 exhibition. Heads of the country’s largest foundry enterprises gathered to talk frankly about what worries plant directors in the conditions of a shrinking market, and how to increase the efficiency of foundry production both “here and now” and in the long term. This was how the work of the newly formed Club was announced by the founder of NPP Group A. Dynin, the ideological inspirer of the Foundry Consilium. In his words, sharing information and exchanging opinions is necessary so that the industry becomes more predictable and all its players can work more comfortably.
